Who knew all that time helping Batman would rub off? Caine is set to become something of a crusader (if not a caped one) himself. Sir Michael Caine has taken matters into his own hands after being Batman's sidekick for so long.
The movie is set in modern day Britain and follows the story of a modest law-abiding elderly citizen, Harry Brown (Sir Michael Caine). Harry is a retired Marine and lives on a depressed public-housing estate in London, within a community where drugs are the currency of the day and guns run the streets.
As his wife lives out her last days in the hospital, Harry restricts his activities to games of chess in the pub with Leonard (David Bradley), his last best friend. Their housing estate has been taken over by warring gangs that deal drugs and settle scores with impunity. The police, represented here by upright detective Frampton (Emily Mortimer) and her cynical partner Hicock (Charlie Creed-Miles), are reduced to simply informing the victims' families when the latest shooting or knifing occurs – visits that Hicock calls death-o-grams.
Harry Brown's life has been stalked by tragedy and when his best friend Leonard is murdered by a gang of thugs, the situation forces him to make some difficult choices as to just how far he will go to find the perpetrators and dispense his own brand of vigilante justice. As he bids to clean up the run-down estate where he lives, his actions bring him into conflict with the police, led by investigating officer DCI Frampton and partner Hicock.
Jake Sully (Sam Worthington), is an ex-Marine who was wounded and paralyzed from the waist down in combat on Earth. Jake is selected to participate in the Avatar program, which will enable him to walk. Jake travels to Pandora, a lush jungle-covered extraterrestrial moon filled with incredible life forms, some beautiful, many terrifying. On Pandora, through his Avatar body, Jake can be whole once again.
Pandora is also home to the Na'vi, a sentient humanoid race, who are considered primitive, yet are more physically capable than humans. As humans encroach deeper into Pandora's forests in search of valuable minerals, the Navi unleash their formidable warrior abilities to defend their threatened existence.
Jake finds himself thrust into hostilities on the alien planet. Over time, Jake integrates himself into the Na'vi clan, there he meets a young Na'vi female, Neytiri (Zoe Saldaña) and begins to fall in love with her. As a result, Jake finds himself caught between the military-industrial forces of Earth and the Na’vi, forcing him to choose sides in an epic battle that will decide the fate of an entire world.
Avatar is both written and directed by Oscar winning visionary filmmaker James Cameron, of Piranha II, The Terminator, Aliens, The Abyss, Terminator 2: Judgment Day, True Lies, and Titanic fame.
2012 - "The Worst is Over" According to the Mayan calendar, the world will come to an end on December 21, 2012.
This is a disaster movie from the producer of The Day After Tomorrow, inspired by the popular superstition based on an ancient Mayan belief that the world will come to an end in the year 2012.
To give you an idea about the scale of disaster that occurs in this film, think The Day After Tomorrow but on steroids, it was as if mother nature got upset after the climate change in that film didn't kill us all and struck back with a vengeance.
Never before has a date in history been so significant to so many cultures, so many religions, scientists, and governments. "2012" is an epic adventure about a global cataclysm that brings an end to the world and tells of the heroic struggle of the survivors.

The music video for 'American Idol' runner-up Adam Lambert's Time for Miracles from '2012' has been released and is below. Enjoy!
The video is fun and largely features shots of Adam singing from a rooftop intercut with shots of explosions and natural disasters from the movie. Our favorite, though, is him walking through a disaster street riot, complete with crashed cars and fire and people running.

Trick 'r Treat is a film of interwoven stories that occur on the same block, on the same night. A couple finds what happens when they blow a jack o' lantern out before midnight, a high school principal has a secret life as a serial killer, a college virgin might have met the right guy for her, a group of mean teens play a prank that they take too far, and a hermit is visited by a special trick or treater.
The film is an anthology of Halloween-related scary stories. One thing that ties the stories together is the presence of Sam, a mysterious pint-sized trick-or-treater with a burlap pumpkin mask, who makes an appearance in all the stories, as a 'friendly-reminder' to those who break the Halloween traditions.
Produced by Bryan Singer, Trick ‘r Treat is a creepy, darkly comic celebration of the scariest night of the year: Halloween. The film’s ensemble cast includes Academy Award-winner Anna Paquin, Brian Cox, Leslie Bibb, Dylan Baker and Tahmoh Penikett. In the tradition of Creepshow and Tales from the Crypt comes interwoven tales set on Halloween night. Trick ‘r Treat is a collection of creepy stories that mixes fun with fear, candy with poison, and laughter with screams.
It is said that Halloween is the night when the dead rise to walk among us and other unspeakable things roam free. The rituals of All Hallows Eve were devised to protect us from their evil mischief, and one small town is about to be taught a terrifying lesson that some traditions are best not forgotten.
Nothing is what it seems when a suburban couple learns the dangers of blowing out a Jack-o-Lantern before midnight; four women cross paths with a costumed stalker at a local festival; a group of pranksters goes too far and discovers the horrifying truth buried in a local legend; and a cantankerous old hermit is visited by a strange trick-or-treater with a few bones to pick.
Costumes and candy, ghouls and goblins, monsters and mayhem... the tricks and treats of Halloween turn deadly as strange creatures of every variety-human and otherwise-try to survive the scariest night of the year.

The film had many title changes before filming began. Originally titled Season's Greetings was changed because it sounded too much like a Christmas film. Then it was called Halloween Terrors, Jack O' Lantern Tales, October the 31st, and Trick or Treat. The final title was kept but since there was already a movie of the same name out, they changed the spelling to Trick 'r Treat.
The film was originally to be released in October 2007 for a Halloween release. Warner Bros., without explanation or reason, pulled the film from the schedule and no reschedule date was announced. There was brief talk that the film would finally be released around Halloween 2008 and possibly early 2009 but neither release ever materialized. The film was finally released straight to DVD in October 2009.
Wizard Magazine "The best Halloween film of the last 30 years."
Fangoria "No film since John Carpenter's HALLOWEEN has captured the creepy spirit of the holiday." "We have a new classic on our hands."
I cannot think of a film more deserving of a 5/5 rating than TRICK 'R TREAT. Writer/director Michael Dougherty has crafted a film that transformed me into a five-year-old child in a Dracula cape and plastic fangs, riveted in stunned horror as his vision played out before me. Somehow, it succeeds in being both terrifying and charming, like a dark old painting that still reminds you of home.
Here are some scary movies that are suitable for all ages – something the kids and adults will both love. A selection of movies – not just horror movies, but movies that contain the themes: Halloween, witches, ghosts, and all things spooky.

Friday the 13th is a 2009 American horror film directed by Marcus Nispel, and written by Damian Shannon and Mark Swift. It is a reboot of the Friday the 13th film series, whose last film was the 2003 crossover film Freddy vs. Jason.
Nispel also helmed the 2003 remake of Tobe Hooper's The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, while Shannon and Swift wrote the screenplay for Freddy vs. Jason.
The film stars Derek Mears as Jason Voorhees, with Jared Padalecki, Amanda Righetti, and Danielle Panabaker portraying the male and female leads. It was released on Friday, February 13, 2009.
This film begins on Friday, June 13, 1980, just at the moment where Pamela Voorhees (Nana Visitor) is beheaded in front of her young son Jason (Caleb Guss) and then jumping ahead thirty years.
A group of vacationing friends—Wade (Jonathan Sadowski), Richie (Ben Feldman), Mike (Nick Mennell), Whitney (Amanda Righetti), and Amanda (America Olivo)—arrive at Crystal Lake on a camping trip, and to find some weed that was planted in the woods. As Mike and Whitney explore the abandoned Crystal Lake camp, Jason (Derek Mears) begins to kill the rest of the group one-by-one.
Six weeks later, Trent (Travis Van Winkle), along with his girlfriend Jenna (Danielle Panabaker), and their friends Chewie (Aaron Yoo), Chelsea (Willa Ford), Nolan (Ryan Hansen), Bree (Julianna Guill), and Lawrence (Arlen Escarpeta) arrive at Trent's summer cabin, which sits on Crystal Lake, unaware of the events that occurred a few weeks prior.
Also in town is Clay (Jared Padalecki), who has come to Crystal Lake searching for his sister Whitney. Clay eventually makes his way to Trent's cabin, where Jenna agrees to help him look for his sister on the other side of the lake. As Clay and Jenna search for clues to Whitney's disappearance, Jason arrives and begins killing everyone .... ...Want to know more? then watch the movie.
Originally starting out as an origin story, the film ultimately became a re-imagining of the first four Friday the 13th films. Along with bringing the film back to its roots, Jason was designed as a leaner and faster killer, with a backstory that could provide a little sympathy for the character but not enough that he would lose his menace.
When released the film was met with primarily negative reviews, but earned approximately $19 million opening night making it the largest opening day for the film series. It currently sits as the second highest grossing film in the Friday the 13th franchise, in unadjusted dollars.
Below is a list the other Jason films and theater release dates. More information on the other Friday the 13th movies.

The film 'Necrosis' as it is known in the States, (also known as 'Blood Snow' worldwide), 'Dead of Winter' (was the working title).
During the winter of 1846, a group of ill-fated pioneers, known as the Donner Party, were on their way to California through a newly discovered mountain pass. They encountered the worst blizzard ever recorded, trapping them with little food or shelter.
As days turned into weeks, and weeks into months, the members of the Donner Party slowly dissolved into madness, eventually turning on each other in what became a desperate, cannibalistic slaughter.
Blood Snow Trailer
Necrosis Trailer
The Necrosis story follows a group of friends at an isolated cabin in the Sierra Nevada Mountains who become trapped by an epic snowstorm and are haunted by ghosts from the Donner Party. They struggle to find out whether these are these true demonic 'entities' or if it is simply 'cabin fever' that is bringing out their fears and paranoia, causing friends to turn against each other as their reality deteriorates around them.
Writers, Robert Michael Ryan and Jason Stephens, wanted heavy snowfall and they got it. The cast and crew survived 2 weeks of relentless snowstorms on location in the Sierra Nevada Mountains to get the footage.
"We got 12 feet of snow in 10 days" comments Director Jason Stephens, "there were days when I woke up and looked out the window and thought…. if this film wasn't self-financed, I would have called in and said – 'nope, snowing too hard today, not filming…..' but with our budget, we had to film everyday. We got it done and it looks incredible. There is no way anyone will doubt that the characters were trapped by a snowstorm. We actually were!"
Necrosis (from the Greek "nekros" meaning, "dead" ) is the premature death of cells and living tissue.
Produced on location in South Lake Tahoe, Big Bear Mountain, and Ventura, California, by Unknown Productions Incorporated in 2008/2009, they turned out the finished film in time for the 2009 Paranoia Film Festival in March, held on the Queen Mary in Long Beach, California.
Necrosis stars James Kyson ( Heroes ), George Stults ( 7th Heaven ), pop star Tiffany, Penny Drake ( Zombie Strippers ) Danielle De Luca, Robert Michael Ryan and has an extended cameo appearance from horror icon Michael Berryman ( The Hills Have Eyes ).

The movie opens with a scene featuring a little girl trapped in a room filling with cement, this helps to enforce the belief that this is, a horror movie. Before she's entirely engulfed, the opening credits kick in with a montage of police reports and newspaper clippings.
The headlines explain the terrible discovery of 16 bodies cemented into the walls of a building, including that of the architect who designed it. We learn that the person who walled them in, Joseph Malestrazza, was never caught, and then we cut to 15 years later, when the building is planned to be demolished.
Opening Scene
We are introduced to 25 year old, recent-college graduate and future demolition engineer Sam Walczak (Mischa Barton). She's following in the family footsteps of blowing buildings up and her dad has given her a job to demolish a building for a chance to become a partner of the company. Adapted from Serge Brussolo's graphic novel of the same name, Walled In follows fledgling engineer Sam Walczak as she ventures deep into the countryside, where the monolithic Malestrazza Building is being prepared for demolition.
A few crazy tenants still live in the building, although they've received eviction notices. Also residing there are the building's disturbed caretaker Mary (Unger) and her equally disturbed teen aged son Jimmy (Bright).
Sam's mission is to figure out the best places for explosives to bring the complex down, although she seems rather lackadaisical in her approach, as she walks around, shops at the local store, talks to the tenants, and plays old Christmas record albums in the only remaining furnished apartment for guests. She's not exactly focused, in other words.
Many of the previous inhabitants were entombed alive in the massive structure, and the deeper Sam digs into the life details of the eccentric architect who designed it, the more convinced she becomes that she will be the final victim in its malevolent legacy.
Walled In (2009)
While watching it, you'll probably notice the scenes that seem blatantly ripped off of other movies. Ghostbusters, Texas Chainsaw, Silence of the Lambs, Nightmare on Elm Street and Psycho all make their appearances. Sam even describes the building as being "like the Bates Motel, only bigger" and it even has that "One, Two, Freddy's Coming For You" song several times.
The first 30 minutes of the movie is actually pretty good, but I'll save you the time by saying that it went downhill after that. The term "horror" applies only in the vaguest sense, more of a thriller, there is very little gore and not much action offered up either. It just ends up going in the wrong direction at the end. It's still worth a look, I think, and would recommend it to the horror crowd.

From Ricky Gervais, the award-winning creator and star of the original BBC series “The Office” and HBO’s “Extras,” comes the new romantic comedy “The Invention of Lying.”
“The Invention of Lying” takes place in an alternate reality in which lying—even the concept of a lie—does not exist. Everyone—from politicians to advertisers to the man and woman on the street—speaks the truth and nothing but the truth with no thought of the consequences.
But when a down-on-his-luck loser named Mark Bellison (Gervais) suddenly develops the ability to lie, he finds that dishonesty has its rewards. In a world where every word is assumed to be the absolute truth, Mark easily lies his way to fame and fortune. But lies have a way of spreading, and Mark begins to realize that things are getting a little out of control when some of his tallest tales are being taken as, well, gospel. With the entire world now hanging on his every word, there is only one thing Mark has not been able to lie his way into: the heart of the woman he loves.
Cast: Ricky Gervais, Jennifer Garner, Jonah Hill, Louis C.K., Jeffrey Tambor and Fionnula Flanagan, with Rob Lowe and Tina Fey.
Written and directed by Ricky Gervais & Matthew Robinson. Produced by Lynda Obst, Oly Obst, Gervais and Dan Lin, with Sue Baden-Powell, Ted Field, Paris Kasidokostas Latsis and Terry Dougas serving as executive producers.
Opening on October 2, 2009, the film will be distributed nationwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.
The entire world is hit with an apocalyptic infection that turns people into zombies once they have been bitten by an infected zombie. The horror comedy Zombieland focuses on two men who have found a way to survive a world overrun by zombies.
Columbus (Jesse Eisenberg) is a young geek who has a lot of phobias about almost everything from clowns, to bathrooms, to checking the back seat of cars. His new fear is being eaten by zombies. Columbus is a big wuss -- but when you're afraid of being eaten by zombies, fear can keep you alive.
To survive, Columbus has begun making a long list of rules to survive. Each time he gives you one of his rules, you see an example of his rule in action. Columbus explains to the audience in a background voice such as wearing your seat-belt, or the double-tap rule after you shoot a zombie make sure he is dead by shooting him in the head again.
The number 1 rule is to be sure that you can outrun the zombies, because the overweight and slow people were caught first by the zombies. He decides to go home to Columbus to see if his parents are still alive.
While walking down the highway, he encounters Tallahassee (Woody Harrelson). Tallahassee is an AK-toting, zombie-slaying' bad ass whose single determination is to get the last Twinkie on earth and who also misses his puppy Buck. He is trying to get to Florida and intends to kill as many zombies as he can on the way. Tallahassee agrees to give Columbus a ride.
When they stop at a grocery store in hopes of finding Tallahassee's coveted Twinkies, they fight off three zombies then find two teenage girls, Wichita (Emma Stone) and her younger sister, Little Rock (Abigail Breslin) in the store room. They may be the last surviving people on earth, and they must rely on each other to survive.
As they join forces with Wichita and Little Rock, who have also found unique ways to survive the zombie mayhem, they will have to determine which is worse: relying on each other or succumbing to the zombies.
Zombieland is filled with the horror genre’s standard overdose of blood and guts, but it’s also packing something else: humor. There isn't a single thing I would change about this movie. Go see it! Best comedy-zombie film since Shaun of the Dead.

Rating: 5 out of 5
The film has some excellent scenes of gore and blood splattering, thrown in with dashes of gut busting humor and wise cracks, making it the most enjoyable zombie film that you will ever see.
This TV remake at least tries to keep itself faithful to the original story by Stephen King.
The movie begins in 1963 in the Nebraskan town of Gatlin. A group of children are gathered inside a tent, where a young in a boy cowboy suit gives a creepy lecture to the rest of the congregation, while a pig is being sacrificed.
Jump to 12 years later, and a married couple traveling on the back roads of Nebraska are arguing inside their car, the corn fields being the only backdrop. Suddenly, a boy comes out of the corn fields, holding his bleeding throat, into the path of the couple's car. The man swerves and brakes, but to no avail - the boy is ran over.
The story continues pretty much following the original short story. It is better than the last three sequels to the original, but it still could have been a much better film itself. The acting is generally all right, apart from Kandyse McClure, after the boy hits the car and the little boy who played Issac recites his lines like he's still trying to remember them.
If you're a fan of the original 1984 film or even just the story then go ahead and give this a shot. It's not unwatchable and you could find worse things to waste an hour and a half on.
